Earn the professional development clock hours you need to renew your Alabama teaching certificate, on your own schedule. iTeachAI Academy offers ALSDE-aligned professional development for K-12 educators, anchored to Alabama frameworks, each course three clock hours, with a Certificate of Completion that documents toward your renewal.
Alabama requires Professional Educator Certificate holders to complete allowable professional development across each five-year continuation cycle. iTeachAI Academy was founded by Dr. Janette Camacho, a 30-year K-12 educator, and every Alabama course is anchored to specific Alabama State Department of Education frameworks, not generic national content. Courses are self-paced, work on any device, and are designed to fit the Alabama certificate continuation and district in-service pathways. iTeachAI Academy is AMSTI and TEAMS approved by the Alabama State Department of Education (as of April 29, 2026).

Alabama Certificate Renewal Requirements
To renew (continue) an Alabama Professional Educator Certificate, the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Educator Certification Section sets the requirements under Ala. Admin. Code r. 290-3-2-.29. The certificate is valid for a five-scholastic-year cycle and is continued through one of several pathways:
- 50 clock hours of allowable professional development combined with three years of full-time educational work experience (the standard classroom-teacher pathway).
- 50 clock hours of allowable professional development combined with three semester hours of allowable graduate credit.
- 100 clock hours of allowable professional development from providers specified by the ALSDE, when professional development alone is the chosen pathway.
- Graduate-credit-only and National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) pathways are also recognized.
- Allowable professional development must align with the Alabama Standards for Professional Development and the educator's growth needs identified through performance evaluations.
- Applications are submitted through the educator's AIM (Alabama Identity Management) account and the ACE Certification Dashboard, no later than June 30 of the certificate's expiration year.
Every iTeachAI Academy course provides three IACET-aligned clock hours and a verifiable Certificate of Completion you can document toward this total. Confirm with your district how external professional development is recorded.

How Alabama Districts Approve iTeachAI for In-Service Hours
Alabama recognizes educator professional development at multiple levels. iTeachAI Academy is AMSTI and TEAMS approved by the Alabama State Department of Education (as of April 29, 2026), and Alabama school districts also approve professional development for their educators under local in-service policies that count toward certificate continuation. iTeachAI Academy courses are anchored to Alabama frameworks and designed to fit both pathways. The district route is simple:
- A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
- The district documents approved courses on its in-service form.
- Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and submit it for renewal credit.

For Alabama School District Leadership
If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at an Alabama district, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before approval.
I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.
