iTeachAI Academy

California Teacher Recertification, Done Online

Because great teachers never stop learning.

CSTP and CA Standards Aligned

Earn standards-aligned professional development hours toward your California teaching credential renewal, on your own schedule. iTeachAI Academy offers professional development for K-12 educators, anchored to California frameworks, each course three hours, with a Certificate of Completion that documents toward your district professional development records.

California renews Clear teaching credentials every five years through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Since 2016 the state no longer requires continuing-education hours to renew a Clear credential, yet most California districts maintain their own professional development expectations through board policy and collective bargaining. iTeachAI Academy was founded by Dr. Janette Camacho, a 30-year K-12 educator, and every California course is anchored to specific California frameworks, not generic national content. Courses are self-paced, work on any device, and are designed to fit district professional development and local continuing-learning pathways.

California Certificate Renewal Requirements

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) governs teaching credentials in California. A Clear teaching or services credential is valid for five years and is renewed through the CTC Online system:

  • Five-year renewal cycle for a Clear teaching or services credential, administered by the CTC.
  • No statewide continuing-education hours are required. The CTC eliminated the former 150-clock-hour professional growth requirement in 2016. A Clear credential "may be renewed without the completion of additional course work or service requirements."
  • Renewal is completed online through CTC Online: confirm your information, pay the renewal fee, and the credential is renewed for another five years. Renewal may be filed up to one year before the expiration date.
  • Local professional development still matters. California school districts set their own continuing-learning and renewal-of-employment expectations through board policy and collective bargaining, and many ask educators to log professional development each year.

Because California does not mandate state renewal hours, iTeachAI Academy courses are positioned as standards-aligned, district-acceptable professional development that educators and districts may apply toward local expectations at their discretion. Every course provides three IACET-aligned hours and a verifiable Certificate of Completion. Confirm with your district or the CTC how professional development is recorded.

How California Districts Approve iTeachAI for Professional Development

Because California does not set statewide renewal hours, professional development decisions sit with districts. California school districts and county offices of education independently approve professional development for their educators under local board policy and bargaining agreements. iTeachAI Academy courses are aligned to the CSTP and California content standards and are built to fit those local pathways. The district route is simple:

  1. A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
  2. The district documents approved courses on its professional development plan.
  3. Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and submit it for local professional development credit.

iTeachAI Academy is not a formally state-approved credentialing provider in California, and we do not claim approval from the CTC or any state agency. Acceptance for renewal or continuing-learning credit is at the discretion of your district or the CTC.

What Makes California Coursework Different at iTeachAI

For California School District Leadership

If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at a California district or county office of education, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before approval.

I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is iTeachAI Academy continuing education for already-licensed teachers, or initial teacher preparation?
It is continuing education for educators who are already licensed in California and renewing their certificate. iTeachAI Academy provides clock hours toward your renewal. We do not prepare candidates for a first-time teaching credential and our courses do not lead to initial licensure.
How do I renew my California teaching certificate?
California Clear teaching and services credentials are renewed every five years through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) using CTC Online. Since 2016 the CTC does not require continuing education, clock hours, or professional growth verification to renew a Clear credential. Renewal is administrative: confirm your information, pay the renewal fee, and the credential is renewed for another five years. Many districts still maintain their own professional development expectations, and iTeachAI Academy courses provide a Certificate of Completion you may apply toward those at your discretion. Verify with your district or the CTC.
Does California require professional development hours to renew a credential?
No. The CTC eliminated the statewide 150-clock-hour professional growth requirement in 2016. A Clear credential may now be renewed online without additional coursework or service. Professional development is still widely expected at the district level, where California districts set their own continuing-learning policies. Our courses are standards-aligned professional development you may apply toward those local expectations.
Are iTeachAI courses approved by the state of California?
iTeachAI Academy is not a formally state-approved credentialing provider in California, and we make no claim that the CTC or any California agency has approved our courses. They are standards-aligned, district-acceptable professional development that educators and districts may apply toward local renewal and continuing-learning expectations at their discretion. Confirm acceptance with your district or the CTC.
How many hours does each course provide?
Three professional development hours per course, IACET-aligned, suitable for your district professional development log and local continuing-learning expectations.
What does it cost in time and money?
iTeachAI keeps cost and time reasonable. Each course runs about three clock hours, is self-paced, and stays accessible for individual teachers, with district site licenses available. Email info@iteachai.co for current options.
Do you provide a certificate of completion?
Yes. Every completed course awards a verifiable Certificate of Completion with contact hours, suitable for documentation toward your district professional development records in California.
How do I get a reviewer account for my district?
Email info@iteachai.co with your district name and role. A no-cost reviewer account is provisioned within one business day.
