Idaho Teacher Recertification, Done Online

Because great teachers never stop learning.

SDE / PSC Aligned

Earn the professional development credit you need to renew your Idaho teaching certificate, on your own schedule. iTeachAI Academy offers state-aligned professional development for K-12 educators, anchored to Idaho frameworks, each course three contact hours, with a Certificate of Completion that documents toward your renewal.

Idaho requires standard certificate holders to complete six semester credits of professional development every five years. iTeachAI Academy was founded by Dr. Janette Camacho, a 30-year K-12 educator, and every Idaho course is anchored to specific Idaho State Department of Education frameworks, not generic national content. Courses are self-paced, work on any device, and are designed to fit the Idaho in-service credit pathway, where fifteen contact hours equal one semester credit.

Idaho Certificate Renewal Requirements

To renew a standard Idaho educator certificate, the Idaho State Department of Education (SDE) and the Professional Standards Commission (PSC) require professional development completed during each five-year period:

  • Six semester credits of professional development for a standard certificate, every five years.
  • At least three credits must be transcripted and completed through an accredited college or university.
  • Up to three credits may come from district, charter, or private school in-service hours, where fifteen contact hours equal one semester credit.
  • Renewal is filed through the SDE Online Certificate Renewal system, with an application fee. Credits must relate to the educator's endorsement area, pedagogy and professional practice, or a district-identified area of need.

Every iTeachAI Academy course provides three contact hours and a verifiable Certificate of Completion you can document toward the in-service portion of this total. Five courses document toward one semester credit. Confirm with your district how external in-service hours are recorded.

How Idaho Districts Approve iTeachAI for In-Service Credit

iTeachAI Academy is not formally state-approved in Idaho, and the SDE does not maintain a pre-approval list for outside professional learning providers. Instead, Idaho school districts and charter networks have authority to review and approve professional development for their educators, and in-service hours documented through that local pathway convert to renewal credit at fifteen contact hours per semester credit. iTeachAI Academy courses are anchored to Idaho frameworks by name to make that district documentation simple. The district route is straightforward:

  1. A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
  2. The district documents approved courses on its in-service form.
  3. Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and submit it toward the in-service credit portion of their five-year renewal.

What Makes Idaho Coursework Different at iTeachAI

For Idaho School District Leadership

If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at an Idaho district, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before approval.

I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is iTeachAI Academy continuing education for already-licensed teachers, or initial teacher preparation?
It is continuing education for educators who are already licensed in Idaho and renewing their certificate. iTeachAI Academy provides clock hours toward your renewal. We do not prepare candidates for a first-time teaching credential and our courses do not lead to initial licensure.
How do I renew my Idaho teaching certificate?
Standard certificate holders renew every five years by completing six semester credits of professional development and paying the renewal fee through the Idaho SDE Online Certificate Renewal system. At least three credits must be transcripted through an accredited college or university, and up to three may come from in-service hours, where fifteen contact hours equal one credit. iTeachAI courses provide contact hours and a Certificate of Completion you document toward the in-service portion.
Do iTeachAI courses count toward my six Idaho renewal credits?
Each course provides three contact hours with a Certificate of Completion suitable for documentation toward the in-service credit portion of Idaho renewal. Idaho converts fifteen contact hours into one semester credit, so iTeachAI coursework can be logged toward the up-to-three in-service credits Idaho permits. The remaining three credits must be transcripted through an accredited college or university. Confirm with your district how external in-service hours are logged.
How many contact hours does each course provide?
Three contact hours per course, suitable for the Idaho district in-service form and the in-service credit portion of your five-year renewal.
What does it cost in time and money?
iTeachAI keeps cost and time reasonable. Each course runs about three clock hours, is self-paced, and stays accessible for individual teachers, with district site licenses available. Email info@iteachai.co for current options.
Do you provide a certificate of completion?
Yes. Every completed course awards a verifiable Certificate of Completion with contact hours, suitable for documentation toward Idaho educator certificate renewal.
How do I get a reviewer account for my district?
Email info@iteachai.co with your district name and role. A no-cost reviewer account is provisioned within one business day.
