Because great teachers never stop learning.

EPSB / EILA Aligned

Earn the professional learning hours you need to renew your Kentucky teaching certificate, on your own schedule. iTeachAI Academy offers EPSB-aligned professional development for K-12 educators, anchored to Kentucky frameworks, each course three clock hours, with a Certificate of Completion that documents toward your renewal.

Kentucky renews the Professional Certificate for Teaching every five years through either three years of classroom teaching or six semester hours of additional graduate credit, with districts approving outside professional development for in-service requirements. iTeachAI Academy was founded by Dr. Janette Camacho, a 30-year K-12 educator, and every Kentucky course is anchored to specific Kentucky Department of Education and EPSB frameworks, not generic national content. Courses are self-paced, work on any device, and are designed to fit the Kentucky in-service and professional learning pathways.

Kentucky Certificate Renewal Requirements

To renew a Professional Certificate for Teaching, the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) requires that the educator complete, during each five-year period of the certificate, one of the following pathways:

  • Three years of classroom teaching experience during the five-year period of the certificate, verified by the district superintendent, or
  • Six semester hours of additional graduate credit when the three years of teaching experience is not met.
  • The renewal application and fee are submitted through the Kentucky Educator Certification System (KECS), the EPSB online portal.
  • Kentucky districts also approve outside professional development locally for educator in-service requirements, and instructional leaders complete Effective Instructional Leadership Act (EILA) training through the Kentucky Department of Education.

Every iTeachAI Academy course provides three IACET-aligned clock hours and a verifiable Certificate of Completion you can document toward your professional learning and district in-service requirements. Confirm with your district and the EPSB how external professional development is recorded for your renewal pathway.

How Kentucky Districts Approve iTeachAI for In-Service Hours

Kentucky approves educator professional development at multiple levels. The Kentucky Department of Education reviews Effective Instructional Leadership Act (EILA) provider proposals for instructional leaders, while Kentucky school districts independently approve professional development for their educators under district in-service policies and EPSB rules. iTeachAI has administrator courses in KDE EILA review and is not a fully approved state provider, so we frame our courses as EILA-aligned and district-acceptable. The district route is simple:

  1. A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
  2. The district documents approved courses on its in-service form.
  3. Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and submit it for renewal and in-service credit.

What Makes Kentucky Coursework Different at iTeachAI

For Kentucky School District Leadership

If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at a Kentucky district, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before approval.

I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is iTeachAI Academy continuing education for already-licensed teachers, or initial teacher preparation?
It is continuing education for educators who are already licensed in Kentucky and renewing their certificate. iTeachAI Academy provides clock hours toward your renewal. We do not prepare candidates for a first-time teaching credential and our courses do not lead to initial licensure.
How do I renew my Kentucky teaching certificate?
Professional Certificate for Teaching holders renew every five years through the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) by completing either three years of classroom teaching during the five-year period or six semester hours of additional graduate credit, then submitting the renewal application and fee through the Kentucky Educator Certification System (KECS). iTeachAI courses provide clock hours and a Certificate of Completion you document toward your professional learning and district in-service requirements.
Do iTeachAI courses count toward my Kentucky renewal?
Kentucky renews the certificate through three years of teaching or six semester hours of graduate credit over each five-year cycle, and districts approve outside professional development locally for in-service requirements under EPSB rules. Each iTeachAI course provides three IACET-aligned clock hours with a Certificate of Completion suitable for documentation toward your district in-service and professional learning total. Confirm with your district how external professional development is logged.
Is iTeachAI Academy approved by KDE?
iTeachAI has administrator courses in Effective Instructional Leadership Act (EILA) review with the Kentucky Department of Education. iTeachAI Academy is not a fully approved state provider and does not claim state approval. Our courses are EILA-aligned and built to be district-acceptable, and Kentucky districts approve outside professional development locally for educator in-service and renewal under EPSB rules.
How many clock hours does each course provide?
Three clock hours per course, IACET-aligned, suitable for the Kentucky district in-service form and your professional learning total.
