Nebraska Teacher Recertification, Done Online

Because great teachers never stop learning.

NDE Standards Aligned

Earn the standards-aligned professional development hours you need to help renew your Nebraska teaching certificate, on your own schedule. iTeachAI Academy offers self-paced professional development for K-12 educators, anchored to Nebraska frameworks, each course three contact hours, with a Certificate of Completion that documents toward your renewal.

Nebraska renews the Standard Teaching Certificate on a five-year cycle, requiring six semester credit hours or equivalent professional development in education or your content area within the immediate past five years. iTeachAI Academy was founded by Dr. Janette Camacho, a 30-year K-12 educator, and every Nebraska course is anchored to specific Nebraska Department of Education frameworks, not generic national content. Courses are self-paced, work on any device, and are designed to support the equivalent professional development pathway your district may apply toward renewal.

Nebraska Certificate Renewal Requirements

To renew a Standard Teaching Certificate, the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) requires the following within each five-year period. The certificate expires September 30th in the fifth year following issuance or renewal:

  • Six (6) semester credit hours in education or your content area, from a four-year standard institution of higher education, or equivalent professional development, completed within the immediate past five years; or
  • One (1) year of half-time or greater teaching experience in a legally operated school system within the immediate past five years.
  • Renewal is processed through the TEACH (The Educator and Certification Hub) portal at the Nebraska Department of Education. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution.
  • Nebraska denominates renewal in semester credit hours and equivalent professional development, not clock hours or CEUs. The Professional Teaching Certificate carries a ten-year validity period.
An honest note on how to use our courses. iTeachAI Academy is not a state-approved provider in Nebraska, and no Nebraska agency has approved iTeachAI. Our courses are standards-aligned, district-acceptable professional development. Educators and districts may apply them toward the equivalent professional development renewal pathway at their discretion. We do not award semester credit. Always verify acceptance with your district and the Nebraska Department of Education certification office before relying on any course for renewal.

How Nebraska Districts Approve iTeachAI for Professional Development

Nebraska districts and educational service units approve professional development for their educators under local policy, and the NDE accepts equivalent professional development toward Standard Certificate renewal. iTeachAI Academy is not a state-approved provider, so the district route is the practical path:

  1. A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
  2. The district documents which courses it accepts as professional development under its renewal policy.
  3. Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and submit it for documentation toward the equivalent professional development pathway, verified with the NDE.

What Makes Nebraska Coursework Different at iTeachAI

For Nebraska School District Leadership

If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at a Nebraska district or educational service unit, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before deciding to accept it.

I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is iTeachAI Academy continuing education for already-licensed teachers, or initial teacher preparation?
It is continuing education for educators who are already licensed in Nebraska and renewing their certificate. iTeachAI Academy provides clock hours toward your renewal. We do not prepare candidates for a first-time teaching credential and our courses do not lead to initial licensure.
How do I renew my Nebraska teaching certificate?
Standard Teaching Certificate holders renew on a five-year cycle through the Nebraska Department of Education using the TEACH portal. You complete six semester credit hours in education or your content area, or equivalent professional development, within the immediate past five years, or verify at least one year of half-time or greater teaching experience in that window. iTeachAI courses provide standards-aligned professional development hours and a Certificate of Completion you document toward the equivalent professional development pathway. Confirm with your district and the NDE how professional development is recorded.
Do iTeachAI courses count toward my Nebraska renewal requirement?
Nebraska renewal is denominated in six semester credit hours or equivalent professional development within five years. iTeachAI Academy is not a state-approved provider and does not award semester credit. Our courses are standards-aligned professional development that educators and districts may apply toward the equivalent professional development pathway at their discretion. Always verify acceptance with your district and the Nebraska Department of Education first.
How many hours does each course provide?
Three professional development contact hours per course, with a Certificate of Completion suitable for documentation toward Nebraska's equivalent professional development pathway at your district's discretion.
What does it cost in time and money?
iTeachAI keeps cost and time reasonable. Each course runs about three clock hours, is self-paced, and stays accessible for individual teachers, with district site licenses available. Email info@iteachai.co for current options.
Do you provide a certificate of completion?
Yes. Every completed course awards a verifiable Certificate of Completion with contact hours, suitable for documentation toward Nebraska educator certificate renewal at your district's discretion.
How do I get a reviewer account for my district?
Email info@iteachai.co with your district name and role. A no-cost reviewer account is provisioned within one business day.
