Oregon Certificate Renewal Requirements
To renew an Oregon teaching license, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) requires Professional Development Units completed during the licensure term:
- 125 PDUs for the Professional Teaching License, on a five-year renewal cycle, calculated at 25 PDUs per year of the term.
- 75 PDUs for the Preliminary Teaching License, on a three-year renewal cycle, also at 25 PDUs per year.
- PDUs are calculated so that one hour of advanced or continuing professional development activity equals one PDU, one semester hour of college credit equals 30 PDUs, and one quarter hour equals 20 PDUs.
- Renewal applications and fees are filed through the TSPC eLicensing portal. TSPC has agreed to reinstate the requirement to report evidence of professional development for licenses expiring on or after July 1, 2029.
Every iTeachAI Academy course provides three PDUs and a verifiable Certificate of Completion you can document toward this total. iTeachAI is not a state-approved provider in Oregon, so we recommend confirming with your district or the TSPC how external professional development is recorded before applying it toward renewal.
Oregon Standards and Frameworks Anchored
Each course cites and references specific Oregon educator frameworks by name, not generic national standards.

How Oregon Districts Approve iTeachAI for Professional Development
Oregon educators document professional development toward the TSPC PDU requirement, and districts play a central role in recognizing that learning. iTeachAI is not a formally TSPC-approved provider. Our courses are standards-aligned, district-acceptable professional development that a district may review and accept under its own professional development policy. The district route is simple:
- A district designee reviews one or more courses through a no-cost reviewer account.
- The district documents accepted courses under its professional development policy.
- Teachers complete courses, receive a Certificate of Completion, and apply the PDUs toward renewal at the district's discretion.
Because acceptance is determined locally and by the TSPC, we recommend educators verify with their district or the certification office before applying external professional development toward renewal.

For Oregon School District Leadership
If you direct curriculum, professional learning, or federal programs at an Oregon district, I would be glad to send a no-cost reviewer account so a designee can audit any course end to end before acceptance.
I will also share a sample certificate, the course catalog with descriptions, and a fifteen-minute call at your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is iTeachAI Academy continuing education for already-licensed teachers, or initial teacher preparation?
- It is continuing education for educators who are already licensed in Oregon and renewing their certificate. iTeachAI Academy provides clock hours toward your renewal. We do not prepare candidates for a first-time teaching credential and our courses do not lead to initial licensure.
- How do I renew my Oregon teaching certificate?
- Professional Teaching License holders renew every five years through the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) by completing 125 Professional Development Units, calculated at 25 PDUs per year, and filing the application and fee through the TSPC eLicensing portal. Preliminary Teaching License holders renew on a three-year cycle requiring 75 PDUs. One hour of professional development equals one PDU. iTeachAI courses provide PDUs and a Certificate of Completion you document toward that total.
- Do iTeachAI courses count toward my 125 PDUs?
- Each course provides three PDUs with a Certificate of Completion suitable for documentation toward Oregon renewal. iTeachAI is not a formally TSPC-approved provider. Our courses are standards-aligned, district-acceptable professional development that educators and districts may apply toward the PDU requirement at their discretion. Confirm with your district or the TSPC how external professional development is logged.
- How many PDUs does each course provide?
- Three PDUs per course, since one hour of professional development activity equals one PDU in Oregon. Each course is suitable for your district's professional development records and your PDU total.
- What does it cost in time and money?
- iTeachAI keeps cost and time reasonable. Each course runs about three clock hours, is self-paced, and stays accessible for individual teachers, with district site licenses available. Email info@iteachai.co for current options.
- Do you provide a certificate of completion?
- Yes. Every completed course awards a verifiable Certificate of Completion with contact hours, suitable for documentation toward Oregon educator license renewal. Because PDU acceptance is determined by your district and the TSPC, verify how external professional development is recorded before applying it toward renewal.
- How do I get a reviewer account for my district?
- Email info@iteachai.co with your district name and role. A no-cost reviewer account is provisioned within one business day.
